I found out about him through Taylor Marshal then dove into his free commentaries online before purchasing most of the English translations done by Loreto Publications.

I am very impressed with his work. For various reasons, reading a few passages from his commentaries often feels like I’m being stoned to death for my own good. I find his work to be as beautiful and illuminating as it is brutal. I also have a sneaking suspicion that many modern pop-apologist and commentators are simply repackaging his work, but my mind is still shiesty like that (WIP).

My questions to those who are familiar with his commentaries, what are his weaknesses, in your opinion?

I've seen his commentaries, and wondered whether they were worth buying.

Much of them are available online for free (along with iPieta App), but those are from some Anglican clergyman who, I’m told, left things out. According to Loretto publications, it was due to bias.

I strongly recommend them.

It seems like Academics just keep studying and studying and then start to get weird. However, I think he avoids this and going over his commentaries, he often helps make clear the Sacramental and Ecclesial reality of the Faith, for me. I found him when I was desperate for apologetic material and he does “hammer” the protestant heretics of his time pretty hard, which now adays may be considered vain or uncharitable. I’ve heard some trads that have been in the movement for a while say that his commentaries are one the most important works to be translated to English lately.
