**RolandJS must condense immensely - library to give away**
Wife and I must clean out storage room. And, downsize massively inside the apartment.
A box or two of very good! Catholic books and Bibles need a new home.
Only two costs: Both boxes must be picked up from Round Rock TX storage, and both boxes go AS IS.
I cannot break up and ship. All or none.
If anyone wants my complete address and phone and storage location: PM me.

Very nice offer. If I weren't two day's drive away, I'd take you up on it! :D

One of these days...

I'll likely post 50-60 pages, similarly.

A wider variety of subject matter, if so.

Roland, my sympathy.

Or, maybe, my admiration.

I almost began crying once, these books were my being in a sense. Milly and I are just in 70th year. We must downsize dramatically, lest our respective sisters get stuck with this - if something happens to us both.

I'm somewhat older. Fortunately, I have a bibliomaniacal offspring.

What with moving every three years, I have trimmed my collection down considerably.

I was wistfully thinking for a few moments your offspring and GKC could collaborate...however, the physical distance would certainly be a problem.

Recall (if you can) what my career was, for 20 years and a few months. I moved on an average of about every 3 years, more or less. The bloated (and increasingly so) collection moved with me.

It was tricky.

Now it just sits here (and over here, and out there, and up there, and in the other place) and looks at me. And grows. It's been doing that for roughly 65+ years.

Reminds me. I need to order two books today, one for me, one for offspring.

No, neither books nor we got blown away, the storm basically passed our apartment complex by.
I just now logged in and saw your post. :)

I suspect so. Of course, such a (hypothetical) 50-60 page list of books I would (possibly) part with would be a mere minimal moiety of the mass.

My music collection is far more modest. All vinyl/tape/cd (excluding radio shows) total, estimate would be less than 2000 items.

They are more focused than your own. And are basically orphaned.

I believe at last count, the number of albums I own was numbered in the low 5 digits. I go through phases where I become intensely interested in one thing and then buy up everything I can if that one thing, from the blues music of the 30s and 40s to 50s era rockabilly to Motown to 20s big band and swing music and more. I even went through a phase where I bought up every musical setting of the Mass I could find, and I found some pretty obscure ones, and not just the obvious ones (namely Bach, Beethoven and Mozart).

My book collection is likely a rough equivalent of your musical accumulation. My much more modest music melange is focused on a handful of genres only and has only a few areas in which my intent was to be as comprehensive as possible.

Still, back in the day, a good weekend outing included a mall crawl, garnering at least a book or two and a LP or so.

It all adds up.

@gherkin
Ok, I can collect all of the Catholic books, pack them in a box, and find out what it would take to ship to you.
I think USPS and UPS might be out of reach, maybe not. There are freight companies that can handle a box.
I will be touch...

Ok, if gherkin does not reply, it's open for anyone else to reply here. I can box up the Catholic material and come to some agreement as to how much I will pay and how much the book box receiver will pay. It will be a 12x12x14 box. I doubt we can swing two such boxes., maybe we can?

Addendum: There IS a time limit. If I do not receive from anyone here, I will cart off the two boxes of Catholic material over to either St. Williams or St. John Venny Catholic Churches here in Round Rock TX. Seven days, then they are gone.

Salvation Army took 13 12x12x12 boxes. St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Round Rock TX took the rest. I kept only 3 boxes worth of books.
