just by saying the words of consecration? Omitting the Liturgy of the Word and possibly even the Eucharistic prayers?
I just read
this account of a recently named Cardinal, and how he said Mass secretly in a Soviet prison. That reminded me of other accounts I've read of priests saying Mass secretly in prison (like in China). Now I think it's safe to assume they didn't have a lectionary. And I seem to remember reading one account of a Chinese bishop just saying the words of consecration over a piece of bread and some little wine he was clandestinely given... so would this be licit under the circumstances? Would the principle of epikeia apply here given the extreme situation?
