Hi Laura! :wave I didn't know you were on this board too!

Laura and I first met online through Catholic.org. :D

Just a FYI, but the posts on page 1 of this thread were made 3 years ago and some of those posting there are no longer here.

Oops. Now I see that Laura's post was indeed one of those made 3 years ago.

Necromancy is a sin. (CCC #2116) :fyi:

Siggy found it while we were cleaning out some stuff here and put it up as a sticky. Peetem posted in it after that. :fyi:

Thanks for the Catechism citation, just in case we didn't believe you. ::):

I'm glad to see that, three years later, puzzlement still exists.

I just sort of gave up on deciphering, or attempting to, his posts. Which reflects not one whit on himself.

It takes at least three years to BEGIN to understand crossquad.

This could be a new game. Pull a post from 3 or more years ago and respond to it. See how long before someone notices. ::):

It helps if you read his Re: line first. Half the solution to the puzzle is usually right there.

I can gather the "idea" of his posts about 70% of the time.

I think I have fully understood about 3 of them.

Yes, and it is a thread I started.

Still haven't figured him out, but with my diminished brain capacity (twin 2 yr olds will do that for you)...well, I've given up for the time being at least.

CQ is the board muse. The muse doesn't often speak directly, but in a sort of subconscious and sideways way. Put it this way--if you have a horse which has a wicked sense of humor, you will never catch him by approaching him directly. He will always turn and run with a perverse sort of joy. He loves the chase. You've entered his game. If you wish to engage him, and have him enter your game, you have to do a sort of sideways dance, approaching and retreating, until you've got his attention and got past the skittish devil in him to the curious one.

I see CQ's posts like that. They aren't often understood head-on. They have to be seen from the corner of your eye and approached from odd angles.

Maybe we should all write like Crossquad here is my attempt:

I do not know how to understand crossquad (this is my first sentence that makes you think I may actually be writing something relevant) a rusted tomato can may cause a blood disorder that sounds a lot like a sport, which is played in the sunlight along with something that is used to catch fish. Green is an important color especially in today's world oh yeah and so is the tennis court.....tetanus thats the problem.

Then I would have a little tomato dancing with its arms moving.

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sound. A dimension of sight. A dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You've just crossed over into...the Crossquad Zone.
