Hey everyone,
Another question from me
I don't mean this in an apathetic or flippant way but, why is the resurrection of the body at the end of time important for us?
If we do the will of God in our lives and die in the state of grace without any attachments to sin and we go to heaven, why does it matter what happens after?
If we are in eternal happiness in the presence of God forever when we die (presuming we are saved), why does it matter whether we are in heaven or whether we are in our physical bodies?
Human beings are a body-soul composite so, are we 'incomplete', as such, when in heaven? Is that why it should be important for us?
Scripture, church fathers and church councils have all dealt with this question and speak of it with such importance.
For example, when I reflect on my death and what will happen when I face the good God, I think and hope for entering heaven.
Should I also be reflecting on what my resurrected and glorified body will be like too? Again, I don't mean this flippantly but, if I am in heaven with God, the angels and saints, why would I care about having my body back?
Like, is this something the saints in heaven are longing for right now?
Thanks again all.
