Hey everyone,
As you know, so many people today subscribe to this idea that everyone is just naturally good. That evil actions and bad things people do are the result of some external cause (such as poverty, war, abuse, government etc). So in a sense, these people aren't responsible for their actions because they were driven to this.
And some people will provide Bible verses to support this. For example, when God creates humanity in Genesis it says he saw that "it was good". But it seems to me that we aren't just basically born good and we don't only choose evil things because of something outside of our control. We are born with original sin and are always drawn to things we shouldn't be drawn to.
What can we say in response to this modern notion that all people are just good, especially in light of Biblical references such as that one in Genesis?
Thanks.
