recently the idea of becoming a third order franciscan has been coming to me a lot (for a lot of reasons!)
st francis has been important to me for a long time, so is padre pio and margaret of cortona. the church i grew up in was capuchins and they left a huge impression on me.
i love nature and the environment, i suppose i live relatively simply however i have a huge streak of vanity. i am not addicted to make up but i love prettying myself up with glittery eyeshadow etc. would i be allowed to do that as a third order franciscan? how can i learn more about what that would entail? isnt the point of it to be penitential? i am still very attached to some worldly habits - not opposed to giving them up just not sure how or how long it would take me to change.
