The Good Friday Liturgy (Mass of the Presanctified) was changed in 1951, those changes made permanent in 1956, then again in 1960 (I think).

The 1962 Missal is just like the 1960 Missal except for the addition of St. Joseph to the Canon.

The Canons Regular of St. John Cantius just reprinted a 1962 Missal (with all the changes) but it appears they have sold out.

Unless you're celebrating Mass, though, an earlier edition would be just fine. (You were talking about altar missals, right, and not handmissals?)

So, where can one get a real 1962 missal, not a 1960-with-sticker? Are they really hard to find?

Thanks!

There are a few in print. I have the Angelus Press (SSPX) one and I think Baronius Press prints one too. I've even seen these for sale on Amazon, and I think Halo Works carries them too. You can also buy used (antique?) and new ones on eBay.

I got mine from OLRL, which is not faithful to the Magisterium, but offers the Angelus Press missal at the lowest price I've seen for a new missal.

I'm looking for an altar missal to give a priest. Should I wait for the St John Cantius edition to become available again?

I would just get THIS ONE. The only omission is St. Joseph's name in the Canon.

Has anyone heard anything about when the St. John Cantius edition will be back in stock?

Some links that I thought might fit in here:

Southwell books - Books for traditionalists. Store is in the UK

Confraternity books - Confraternity of Ss. Peter & Paul's bookstore

Loreto publications - Traditional minded books

TAN books - Traditional books

The Neuman press - Traditional Catholic books

Little flowers family apostolate - Assortment of things for the traditional minded person.

Modesty veils - Veils

Baronius press - Great books

Angeluspress - SSPX's publishing house

Server guide - how to serve low mass

I am sure some of these links will not fit into the system here, but then just ignore them.

Preserving Christian Publications is reprinting a 1962 Missal.

Are there any online audio files one can listen too, to learn how to serve?

Ivar, I don't know of any. It's hard to see how one could learn to serve by listening to audio files. You learn to serve by doing, not by listening.

I know, and agree with what you are saying. I was thinking of maybe getting some audiofiles I could listen to when I am on the bus/car or somewhere else where I do not have my pc available, and I could listen to them, and possibly memorize (better) what the server is going to say.

And about 5 prefaces that were added July 1962 (they are ad libitum, but still)

Anyone a link for the music - chat - propers, etc. for the EF? I'd like to have it in regular notation rather than chant notation.
