These days it is not uncommon to find individuals 50+ who haven't been married. I love being active in my Parish. Somehow though i 've never been able to get my head around the big deal about sex in committed non-married relationships especially at our age. I don't get how it is that Jesus expects us to be chaste our entire lives. I have been in a loving relationship with a non-Catholic for nearly 10 years. We have no interest in getting married at our ages. No intimacy in recent years is really putting pressure on our relationship. Are my only options to get married or leave the Church I love?

Perhaps you should ask yourself why you don't want to get married.

You're approaching the age where you need to think about End of Life. Take my case -- my wife has had severe Alzheimer's for the last 10 years or so. Should I just walk away and abandon her. Unthinkable!!
