Post subject:  Canonical Marriage Issues

Given the recent threads discussing issues pertaining to the marriages of some posters here, some clarification on how we would like to handle these types of threads is in order.

We have decided that it is best that we not give out canonical advice on specific situations dealing with marriage issues involving particular posters. In these cases, it is best that the poster(s) get the information they need from their priest, chancery office, or local tribunal. We think this is best for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that the resolution to these problems is not in our hands and that there is the possibility of harming someone's situation with incorrect advice. We appreciate all the help that the posters here wish to give, but we think it is best that we refrain from getting involved.

Theoretical discussions on marriage and marriage law are allowed. Questions and discussions on what marriage law is are fine, but we would like the leave the application of these laws and regulations to particular board members to those who will be involved in the decisions regarding said board members.

Thank you and God Bless.

I think this is sound reasoning, especially dealing with personal issues.
