Thankful to be here. I was raised in the Catholic church, my confirmation was extraspecial to me as it was on my 10th birthday (alooooonnng time ago!) I made a personal committement to Lord at age 17 through a Catholic neighbor , but I was not encourage to fellowship within the church. I have gone to many protestant denominations over the years, (I am charismatic by definition) The last few years I have been discouraged by the lack of reverance for the Lord. and the bless me mentality. I haven't been going to Mass regularly yet but, I know it is important be there for strength and edification. The reverance for God, His holiness is all important to me. I look forward to being here. My husband and I have been married 14 years (he was raised Catholic too) we have no children by God's design and as I look back I can see His hand on this for my walk and am still trusting and praising Him through this. Thanks. |

Welcome to the board. As someone on this board pointed out once, sharing Holy Communion with other Catholics puts us in fellowship with every true Catholic in the world. If you are talking about fellowship in the context of socializing with other Catholics, my parish church has coffee and doughnuts after Mass every Sunday. We also have a monthly parish brunch, and pot luck suppers throughout the year. During Lent we have bread and soup suppers after Friday Stations. Maybe you could organize some similar things in your parish? If you see a need, try to fill it. Don't sit back and wait for someone else to read your mind and do it for you. Speak up! ![]() Siggy |
