Hello,

My name is John Garrett. I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado with my two sons. I am a retired US Army veteran of 21 years and a single father.
I am a member of Saint Gabriel The Archangel Catholic Church in Colorado Springs. Father Kirk Slattery is the head of our church.
I am very new to the Catholic faith and I'm currently going through RCIA with an anticipated baptism and confirmation next Easter.
My spiritual background is long and complicated and I'm just not ready to share all of it.
My reasons for joining the Catholic Church are equally complicated. But they can be summed up by saying, God called to me. And I finally answered.
There is a lot that I do not know. I am learning and I'm very excited about this journey.
So, I went on Google and looked up "Catholic Discussion Forums" and found myself here. So, I registered and here I am.
I look forward to learning from you, my RCIA instructor, my Father and everyone else in the Church.

As to your statement "there is a lot that I do not know" well, you and I have that in common and I suspect many on this board would share that sentiment.

I hope you are able to learn much from us and I hope we can learn from you as well.
