Does ANYONE understand crossquad? Does he throw words into a mixer, and pull them out and assemble them into something resembling haiku?

ARGGHHH! I cannot even read his posts. I don't know if I am entirely too brain dead to comprehend, but it's just realllllllllllly....well, ya'll know.

So, am I a complete moron? Or does anyone else think some of those posts read like CQ has been sniffing a bit too much rubber cement?

No offense meant, CQ. I mean, I "like" the fact that I don't undestand your posts...for some reason. They make me giggle.

:)

Rachel (who at 32 ought to perhaps be past the giggling age....but isn't)

Ok, so I can giggle without having to figure out why I am giggling?

Thanks, Molly.

I just go "cross eyed" when I read a "crossquad".

Sheesh

Crossquad is an enigma.

So are his posts.

Once you have moved on past the ordinary, into the realm of that which is not dimensional in nature but in fact extraordinary sperically tuned with ulatr anti-universal thought, you will begin to understand. You, my child, are not ready.

Baby steps Rachel, baby steps...

Start with this one. Do you understand this?:

Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bed sitter people look back and lament
Another day's useless energy is spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

sounds better in song than it does being read ... i linked to it in that music thread... anawim said she never liked it :(

here's a good one
Quote:
(Yeah, sing a song bro'...)
If the sun refused to shine
I don't mind, I don't mind
(Yeah)
If the mountains ah, fell in the sea
Let it be, it ain't me.
(Well, all right)

Got my own world to live through and uh, ha !
And I ain't gonna copy you.

Yeah (sing the song brother...)
Now if uh, six uh, huh, turned out to be nine
Oh I don't mind, I don't mind uh ( Well all right... )
If all the hippies cut off all their hair
Oh I don't care, oh I don't care.
Dig.

'Cause I've got my own world to live through and uh, huh
And I ain't gonna copy you.

White collar conservative flashin' down the street
Pointin' their plastic finger at me, ha !
They're hopin' soon my kind will drop and die but uh
I'm gonna wave my freak flag high, high !
Oww !

Wave on, wave on...

Ah, ha, ha
Fall mountains, just don't fall on me
Go ahead on mister business man, you can't dress like me
Yeah !

Don't nobody know what I'm talkin' about
I've got my own life to live
I'm the one that's gonna die when it's time for me to die
So let me live my life the way I want to
Yeah, sing on brother, play on drummer

from the man who would have been 64 yesterday ,had he lived :(

Or perhaps that (very same) old geezer wrote this for our crossquad:

Quote:
Is that the stars in the sky or is it raining far from now?
Will it burn me if I touch the sun,
so bit, so round?
Will I be truthful, yeah,
in choosing you as the one for me?

Is this love baby,
or is it-a just confusion?

Oh, my mind is so mixed up, goin' round 'n' round_
Must there be all these colors without names,
without sounds?
My heart burns with feelin' but
Oh! but my mind is cold and reeling.

Is this love, baby
or is it confusion?

Oh, my head is pounding pounding
going 'round and 'round and 'round and 'round.
Must there always be these colors?

A diamond necklace played the pawn
Hand in hand some drummed along, oh
To a handsome man and baton
A blind class aristocracy
Back through the opera glass you see
The pit and the pendulum drawn
Columnated ruins domino

Canvass the town and brush the backdrop
Are you sleeping?

Hung velvet overtaken me
Dim chandelier awaken me
To a song dissolved in the dawn
The music hall a costly bow
The music all is lost for now
To a muted trumperter swan
Columnated ruins domino

Canvass the town and brush the backdrop
Are you sleeping, brother john?

Dove nested towers the hour was
Strike the street quicksilver moon
Carriage across the fog
Two-step to lamp lights cellar tune
The laughs come hard in auld lang syne

The glass was raised, the fired rose
The fullness of the wine, the dim last toasting
While at port adieu or die

A choke of grief hard hardened i
Beyond belief a broken man too tough to cry

Surfs up
Aboard a tidal wave
Come about hard and join
The young and often spring you gave
I heard the word
Wonderful thing
A childrens song

This thread was at the top of the list when I came on this morning and my first thought when I read "could someone explain crossquad" was "Probably not!"

Once in a while I get what he writes, but for the most part, he is an enigma.

Crossquad is the rumplestiltskin of this board. Nobody knows who he is. Nobody knows where he came from. Nobody knows what he's saying. He's just a mystery and you have to take it like that, just like the mystery of the incarnation.
