Because there's no talent on the roster?

It is high school bowling season in Louisiana. Y'all root for us. I had a kid shoot 718 our last match out. My top 5 (we start 6) are freshman and sophomores.

I cannot tell you how fun high school bowling is. I so wish they had it when I was in school. The reps these kids get really make them better than I ever was at that age. Bowling has had a deteriorating following over the last 3 decades. I really think high school bowling is the key.

pretty outstanding...when i was a freshman and sophomore (read that before even urethane came out) i was a 170 average bowler ... my first 7 was a 704 and it came much later probably when i was 27 or 28 ... finished my bowling career at 46 with one of those big jets for a high series... a 757

757 is pretty stout. My sanctioned high is 726 (I was 33 yo). I followed a similar pattern. I did most of my bowling back in the urethane days. Averaged 170-180 in my late teens. Bowled for my ill-fated college bowling team in one "tournament" with a whole 3 teams. That was my bowling career. Then I quit for 20 years with occasional stints in short season leagues and haven't really been able to get a stable league habit in place since. I think it is a sure fire deal my kid beats me to a perfect game. He has bowled 268 and 269 in the last month and put two 268's up in high school play last year. Can't wait to see if he can repeat the performance this year.

Wright State Raiders men's basketball team is hot .... 16-4 overall and 6-1 in the Horizon League .... though the last two games are cause for concern ... lost at UIC on Sunday after falling behind by double digits, and a rally that came too little, too late ... won at home against Cleveland State last night but our free throw shooting was poor ... that won't fly in the tournament

Vanderbilt went 0-25 from three-point land last night, breaking a streak of 1,080 consecutive games with a trey.

they had some good looks though.... a few of those rattled in and out ... sc hosts brought up a good point... they were getting blown out...why not just put up a 3 every time down the court?

Men's college basketball final: WVU 97, Texas 59.

Sorry FS. #sorrynotsorry

The Longhorns' 5th worst loss ever in men's basketball, and their worst in Big XII play.

Hey, at least we didn't score triple figures on ya.

Wright State men have a big game coming up on Friday ... at home against Northern Kentucky. Raiders lead NKU by one game in the Horizon League standings.

so the zion era has begun.... as every sports pundit in the nation has trumpeted today... but you have to admit, he made quite a splash.... especially his heroics in the 4th quarter ... 17 straight points which included 4 treys and 22 points in the game playing only 20 minutes ... i'd say if he avoids injury, he's got a bright future ahead of him

I'm excited about Zion. Honestly, the NBA puts on a very good show in person in New Orleans. We have been to Pelicans games with a youth group in the past and it was a blast. Those tickets might be getting harder to get though ....

Our boys bowling team is 3-0 after beating a team we haven't beaten (to my knowledge) in the history of the program. They have been a perennial power in the past including winning state titles. They are a young squad and lost the top average in the state last year (230). We are in the middle of the most difficult series of games in our schedule. Our biggest match though, is in a month.

I am optimistic about our chances to improve upon our playoff seed from last year. We were #19 of 32.

I will return my top 6 guaranteed next year, and likely for the two following. I have a three year run in a pretty talented squad. My goal for next season is to get tryouts more competitive.

Our girls are 1-1 (there is a forfeit that is in contention because the team dropped out, we do power ratings so they may force us to reschedule that match or be down on) ... I think we can work them into a team that is capable of a deep playoff run. They get so many reps in that they really do improve dramatically over the course of a year. High school bowling playoffs usually have some amazingly high scores.

Report now is his oldest daughter, another player and parent were also in the crash and died. We're on the way to LA for a basketball game. Very sad.

Sad indeed. I did not realize Kobe he was Catholic. Saw a lot posted about that shortly after he passed. I think it really hits the middle aged parents pretty hard when something like this happens because it makes you realize how short life is and how quickly things can change.

Women's basketball:

Wright State loses to Green Bay, 68-59. This is Green Bay's 64th win in 71 meetings all-time.

Meanwhile, #1 South Carolina leads Ole Miss at the half, 32-2. No that is not a typo. (To make matters worse, Ole Miss is the home team.)
