Why did Abraham say "If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe, if one rise again from the dead" (Luke 16:31), when Jesus said "Woe to thee, Corozain, woe to thee, Bethsaida: for if in Tyre and Sidon had been wrought the miracles that have been wrought in you, they had long ago done penance in sackcloth and ashes" (Matt. 11:21)? It seems like there's a contradiction here, and it bothers me. Can anyone help? And may I ask you to pray for me? |

Abraham is speaking of the rich man's brothers in particular. It's possible (and I would say likely) that some in Tyre and Sidon would have held out even in the face of miracles. |
