eg that we'll run and not get tired, or that our feet won't hit stone.

I already know what it does NOT mean (ie in a hyper-literalistic sense). So, please tell me what it DOES mean.

I'm not trying to be rude here, but it seems you don't do well with symbolic language. What sort of idea might those images be pointing to?

I accept that my mind prefers clear and precise things.

I don't know how to think about them, which is why I ask. Literal-physical sense? Obviously not. Mental-emotional sense? But there are times when we feel sad, scared or stressed. Spiritual-moral sense, ie that man receives grace to do good and avoid evil ? That's possible, but is this really how these verses have been interpreted?

:salut: Our inclinations are fine as long as we're aware of them.

I would take them as God's promise to renew and strengthen His people.

1) Do you have any good recommendation on inclinations etc?
2) Renew from what to what; strengthen with what kind of strength?

1) No, though I might think of one later.

2) Recall that the audience of the latter part of the book of Isaiah is the Jews in exile in Babylon. God is promising to restore them.
