How did you end up in Belfast, anyway?

Greetings from my DW :)

Greetings to your wife from me.

Came over to Belfast initially to do the last year of my degree from Norway over here. Had an interest in Irish history and music. Then was invited to do a second degree over here, so started that, but got sick. Anyway, through illness and horrendous relationships, I was forced to take a serious look at God again. I formally left the Lutheran church at 18, and had not really been a Christian since my early teens, when certain issues regarding salvation and some other stuff seemed to drive me away from God (issues that were resolved by Catholic teaching). Had failed to seriously look into a long standing attraction to the Catholic Church (from the age of 11/12 and right through my non-Christian period) before.

Anyway, so there you have it. God refused to give up on me in spite of my previous failure to follow his constant callings to the Church (I never felt at home in the Lutheran Church), and my decision to embrace the doubtful standards of the world for many years. Still ill, but feel I'm supposed to stay here at the moment, where I have such wonderful access to the Blessed Sacrament, and also a great circle of solid practising Catholic friends, who actually want to embrace the wonderful teachings of the Church and not change them to suit "modernity". Have been very blessed. :D

And, of course, somebody has to mind the cat while my housemates are at work....
