Howdy!
Well, I received a tip that this board exists, from one of your board members. This looks really nice! I live in Oregon, USA. I'm a cradle Catholic. I'm a senior citizen, so have lived through V-II. I'm a widow, mother of two and gramma of two. I'm a Registered nurse, trained by a Catholic Nursing School, in the early sixties.
I'm finding that many advances in the medical profession, are against my Catholic religion. Some make the headlines, but many don't.
So many aspects of morality are changing, and quickly. The Churches in my area, are very liberal, and not much help, as my medical ethics were learned in a different era, pre V-II.
Well, I guess that's enough, for starters. ::):

God bless,
Lolly

Hi Lolly. I am new to this site as well. I am interested to hear more about the medical profession and the conflict with Catholic teachings. Hope to talk to you in more detail.

Hi, Lolly. Welcome to the board! I hear Oregon is a very lilberal state; it's too bad the churches are, too.

Nice to meet all of you. I'll tell you what city I live in, but be sure you are sitting down, and have nothing in your mouth. :D I live in Eugene, OR. I've been here since 2000, to be Gramma. However, I grew up in the Mid West.
Yes, this is the State of legal, physician assisted suicide. It was voted in twice! Now the State is working on a law to force pharmacies to dispense these drugs, even if it is against the pharmacist's religious belief. Same with the morning after pill. The Catholic Hospital here is under fire also, as they don't carry the drug. Some women come to the ER wanting it. When they can't get it, off to the lawyer they go.
I will say, it is nice being in a Catholic environment! I already love this board!

God bless,
Lolly

Welcome Lolly, from another Gramma (3 kids, 4 grands and 1 on the way). I grew up in Kansas. This board is one of the best I've found on the internet.

Hi Kalona, I grew up in K. C., MO, but took my state boards in Topeka, KN. My school is in K.C., KN. Providence Hospital. Yes, we had nuns, watching us! :D Ya can't fool a nun! :D I have such fond memories of those days!

God bless,
Lolly

Welcome to the Board Lolly. I'm an RN graduated from a Catholic College but haven't worked for 16 years since becoming a stay at home Mom.

Dianne, You're a lucky person! When my kids were little, I worked part time, nights. It worked out well, and kept me in touch with the medical advancements.

God bless,
Lolly
