Mexico used to be a Catholic country but then certain undesirables took over and--killed Fr Pro

and God knows what else is happening there

I need to find a good book on the modern history of Mexico

The government? No. The drug cartels? Yes.

A century ago. You said, "still." Some anti-Catholic laws were still on the books when St. JP II made his visit to Mexico; the Mexican president paid on his behalf the fines for wearing clerical garb in public, but I believe that law is no longer in force.

so now it is only the US that persecutes Catholics..

sardonic comment but there is a truth to it

you can be Catholic in this country but do NOT ever be an enthused, outspoken one who shares the faith--

There are indeed still anti-clerical laws on the books in Mexico, but I don't believe they are enforced.

Why not? Your outspeaking and enthusiasm might drive some off, but that is the case in any strongly held and overtly announced belief. Such as the Civil War or plastic models.

I know there's only one.

I also know I need a beating a dead horse emoticon.

This likeness reveals that man, who is the only creature on earth which God willed for itself, cannot fully find himself except through a sincere gift of himself. ~ Pope Paul VI, Gaudium et Spes 24.3

There may be only one of those, too.

you're not rich?

well, I don't want to talk to you then..

(I wanted to pretend for a moment I was some other kind of person)

actually, I prefer the non-rich

the only rich person I like is Trump. He does really really good things w/ his resources.. with all the blessings he has been given. Now some "blessings" he's gotten are from the devil but I am not talking about those ones (Stormy.. Cohen.. CNN)
