I'm a bit intrigued by this man. I was listening to an old recording of a priest talking about the conversion to Catholicism of a Lord Longford... and how he wrote a book about humility (and some other interesting topics too).

I read his wife was initially scandalized by his desire to convert.

But then I also came across quite a few who were outraged by him over his views on certain prison cases.

Can anyway recommend a book of his?

I've never heard of him. Judging from the Wikipedia bio, he might be better known in the UK.

I think he concerned himself with Maura Hindley, did he not? I don't know much about him. He also wrote a couple of books on Irish topics.

Yes, he did. I'd never heard of the case before.

The Moors murders are infamous in the UK.

Not totally unknown over here.

I know nothing of his writings, but his wife did some bios, two of which are somewhere around here.
