I have no time to attend a book club... I'd LOVE to do an on-line book club.

Anyone here interested?

Interested, yes. Realistically able to devote the time to one? Questionable. But I'll never know if I don't try, right?

Please do your best. I think it would be a great encouragement for many.

Five is enough to begin.

Shall we select a book? Do we want to do a novel?

What about that book that was being discussed here recently about Pope Pius XII during WWII?

I think starting with a novel might be nice. I don't know if I can start with a non-fiction work other than the ones I'm trying to get reading at the moment. Also, free or cheap would be important just at the minute. Then again, I can jump in at a later point if you all want to go ahead.

I'll be ok as long it doesn't even come close to the "romance" genre. Romance novels, I cannot abide. :nooo:

What about one of RH Benson's novels? They are public domain, so, inexpensive and they have some meat in them.

I've not read "Necromancers" but have it in my queue (it is a free Kindle book)

Of course we could read "Lord of the World" It is time for me to read it again and the Pope has recommend it.

FTFY :wave

And I vote Lord of the World, as well. Papa Benedict doesn't ask for much these days, and I sure do miss him.

Reading Dawn of All after that makes an interesting contrast. Sad to say, Benson's view of the future in Lord of the World turns out to be a lot closer to the truth.

I've begun "Dawn of All" a couple of times and keep stalling out...

I can reread Lord of the World, but will probably not start until next week. Also, I'm not a fast reader. :fyi:

How will the virtual book club work? I don't even really know how regular book clubs work?

What say we try to talk about the Prologue over the weekend?

I'll start a new thread...
