Has anyone here read that book?

I've had it for years. But no, not yet.

Did you like it? I ordered it from Amazon, but it hasn't shipped yet.

As with almost all Knox I have read, I liked it very much. It has his usual style and wit and learning, in engaging some knights of materialism, of the day. I was surprised to see among them an old acquaintance of mine, Gerald Heard, who I had only read in the fiction he published as by H. F. Heard, which is fun stuff. Knox suggested that Heard might be more appreciated as a fiction writer. Perhaps he took that to heart, all the fiction Heard wrote, AFAIK, was at least 15 years after this book.

I spotted a point or two that seemed like echoes of Chesterton, a point or two that anticipated Lewis (though Knox was not necessarily endorsing the points as particularly pertinent) and pax may be interested to know that the word "abiogenesis" appears 3 times. Not that it is discussed.

Good vintage Knox.

What did you think of the section on Mencken? That's the main reason I bought it.

Mencken is one of the weaker of Knox's targets. Knox skewers him adequately.

Whew knew Gabriel and GKC had the influence to sell out Amazon?

Bookfinder can find copies, but they start at $31.54 and go up from there.
