Received this as a gift (the audiobook) - kinda giggly excited to begin it. Anyone here read it already?

No. But I was looking at it today. For the third time.

I'm pretty sure I read this a few months ago...it was pretty good but contains no new history/info that I didn't already know ..but I have read ALOT about this genre so others may learn something new.

I've read a lot in this period, too, as I may have said before. But the reviews and blurbs for this suggest more that I can appreciate. I know little directly about Joanna.

I've decided to get it.

Why was this not posted in the League if Extraordinary Gentlemen forum?

And I am just becoming enthralled with this period - so, tell me, what else?????

BTW, greatly enjoying this book - actually forcing myself to only listen before bed to savor it instead of gobbling it down.

Oh my...there are TONS of books. Start with Sharon Kay Penman's books tons of facts written in story form, very very good books:

Read the Henry II books first (and there are more than listed at the link) then read the Welsh series ...and there's one more book coming out in the Henry II series later this year or next spring.

Other authors who do a good job of that period:

Jean Plaidy
Allison Weir
Elizabeth Chadwick
