the reason we forget news almost as soon as we hear it is that

it doesn't usually directly apply to us...

And even if it does, they have a knack for getting it wrong.

Every day I get news in Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, etc.

That way it is easy to forget them.

frankly, cable news folks are about as elitist as the DC Swamp Creatures et al

I mean.. well, there are every now and then stories about common people but even then, there is an elitist kind of .. component.. always have to have that or a Hollywood component..

OK, one story by Martha McCallum really affected me deeply the other night: an actress was on but she was in a movie that you c an't really call Hollywood (ish) because it was about how bad abortion is. This is one movie I plan to see, evne if I have to travel a good distance.. called "Unplanned" about a woman who used to work for an abortion "clinic" but then something happened and she woke up (my words)..

It was moving because the young actress never knew that her own mother had had an abortion before she came along.. which she told her about when she found out the theme of the movie she was working on. So this actress was almost aborted herself, apparently.. and she broke down and cried while she was telling this story..

I think all Catholics should go see this movie
