To learn that this is going on in the Mormon establishment! http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/01/16/mo ... y-men.html

Fox News sure ain't what it used to be. What's "new at 5:00" - that water is wet?

Soon they'll find out that there are only male bishops in the Catholic Chuch too, and that the Pope is a man!

Such a shameless example of patriarchy, misogyny, and bigotry, the heads of the LDS church may not self identify as men :fyi: :D

I haven't read that article, only the title, so maybe they address this point, I don't know, but the real problem isn't that the leadership is all male, then it is that they are all OLD MEN.

The Mormon church is a classic example of a gerontocracy. Just think of it, the last president died earlier this month at the age of 90, and he has been replaced by a man of age 93. The last time there was a president under 80 was in 1975, and the president is 90 or older at least 50% of the time. The reason for this the peculiar way of advancing in the Mormon leadership which is, wait until everyone above you dies. This pretty much guarantees that anyone who lives long enough to make it all the way to the top will be too old to do anything and probably senile to boot. This is not exactly a recipe for an organization with a bright future ahead of it.

I get the impression that there is one other restriction. It is extremely rare to be inducted into Mormon hierarchy for a man without a middle initial in his name.

As a rule, I pay no attention to what other churches practice or preach. I only know I belong to the One True Faith, and I care very much how our bishops lead (or not) the faithful.
