I generally don't lie down (literally) for folks who cut in line. I'm pretty big, so I use that. However, I've found the worst offenders are women. And when challenged such women have some variety of a fit. Or ask me what I think I'm going to do about it. I've even pointed out to the cashier that there is an offender in line and that I expect to be waited on before she; the cashier almost always ignores the dispute and just rings up whomever is next. My fellow line waiters usually try to look at anything other than those involved in the dispute; people, I find, hate conflict -- even if they are being disrespected (always wanted to use that in a sentence).

If there is a cashier involved, I simply put my purchases on the counter and walk away.

I'm probably going to be arrested for sexual harassment.

That's why you should use a walker or a cane. The women will push you to the front of the line.

Plus canes make excellent weapons, especially the wooden ones.

With a heavy brass duck head for the handle.

That might be a little over the top, but if you could minimize your height....

No, but a pitifully sad expression would.

Looking a bit confused while pitiful and even a little lost can add quite the nice touch.

Given my recent listening habits, I want to try to write a bad Lovecraftian styled tale about my murderous, incomprehensibly cute being from beyond time and space that murders all vegetables with its salad shooter attempting thereby to bring about the starvation of all animals and man and pave the way for the return of the Elder Gods (plus one Brown Jenkin . . . I can imagine a great little Pepe Lepew styled twist ending herre ;) . . . I will submit to GKC for his approval when finished.). It will be essential to shoehorn in a character named Larry who must be the first to die.

edit:

And I can name the protagonist Robert Vischer.

Or it could must mark you as a victim and you'd be at the back of the line till the store closed.

To update Lovecraft, would larger font sizes, bold text, and underlining be permitted? I'd stop short of text color.

Lovecraft would have never permitted colored text. He would likely consider such an imitation to be a "g**-****'d dung of a hyaena" [sic[burn]].
