I remember a few months ago I was widely mocked and told that I am 'ignorant' and don't know what I'm talking about when I asserted that most so-called 'non-denominational' churches are actually Baptist in theology, and thus not really 'non-denominational' at all.
Well, the evangelical parody site, the Babylon Bee, recently did a story that backs up my assertion:
http://babylonbee.com/news/non-denomina ... -baptists/What do you know, it turns out that I'm not the only one who thinks that 'non-denominational' is usually just something that churches tend to call themselves because they worry that the word 'Baptist' tends to alienate some people. In fact, this belief is so common that it has become the basis for a parody article.
