What?

You want me to prove it?

Well, isn't it obvious?

I think the onus is rather upon Protestants to prove they do not worship the Bible.

So, I am waiting..............................

Depends on what you mean by worship. If you mean adoration, no. If you mean honor because the Bible is the Word of God, yes.

I believe that was directed at haparker. He claims that Catholics deify Mary, not based on our teachings, but based on his opinion. Pax is handing it right back at him.

Aha! See? You give honour to a thing that should only be given to God.

I don't think so!

On a slightly different note, my Jewish grandfather had a Hebrew prayer book with Torah, and before and after reading it he would always kiss the back and front cover, as a mark of respect for the word of God. I saw several Jewish relatives do that...but I don't think it's 'worship' in an idolatrous way.

I am imagining those Protestants worshipping Greek in their Greek Bible. Books of Maccabees caution us against such Hellenization.

I worked for awhile for a family of devout Hindus who owned hotel properties. I was trying to have a meeting with the owner of one on a day when he was putting new Gideon bibles in the rooms and he kissed each one and crossed himself before placing them in a drawer.

See, I don't think that's wrong. It shows respect for the word of God. I wouldn't think anything negative of it.

Pax, if you are parodying Parker, I get it. But, if a Protestant says that he does not worship the Bible, I accept it.

Some of us do. In fact, this week I have been doing some of my devotions from the Book of Wisdom (the Authorized King James Version, too!)

Most of today's Protestants are not even aware that the original King James translation included a translation of the "apocryphal" books, as we like to term them.

I disagree. Your making a blanket statement instead you can say some Protestants appear to worship the Bible and some even go off the deep end. What you said is o different then Protestants saying we worship Mary. I seen some of your threads and responses, are we not suppose to love and not make blanket accusations. Is not one of the fruits of the Spirit love and anther kindness and even another gentleness? I expect such accusations out of some Protestants but not blanket things out of Catholics

I'm not sure what I find more amusing. That pax actually started this thread, or that people are taking him seriously.

I think the second.

Thanks for the laugh folks.

So why accuse in the same vain. It is indeed the same accusation worded differently
