Original Sin being taking away by Baptism! See below my note, then his.

My Quote:
Denial of the condition of sin is self-deception and even contradictory of divine revelation; there is also the continual possibility of sin's recurrence.
His comment.....
The condition of sin and continual possibility of sin's recurrence = "original" (that is, inherited) sin. Which is why it's inaccurate to say it's eradicated by baptism.

Original sin is simply the taint that we inherited from Adam. What he's talking about -- not 'the condition of sin' (what does that even mean?), but certainly the 'continual possibility of sin's recurrence' -- is called concupiscence.

if one dies in this fallen state, they can not enter Heaven (unless, by the grace of God, He has mercy on those unbaptized infants). Jesus makes it clear that unless one is baptized, they can not enter Heaven. He calls it "being born of water and spirit." This can only wash away the sin born to us.

What does this mean?

Baptism washes away all sin that we are guilty of at the time we are baptized. For babies, of course, this would only be the guilt of original sin.

Poor wording on my part. What I meant was, without baptism, our born state of original sin can not be forgiven.

Quote:
Rom 5:
18 Then as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one man's act of righteousness leads to acquittal and life for all men.
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by one man's obedience many will be made righteous.

Paul mentions that Adam's fall from grace led to condemnation for all. The flip side is that Jesus is the new Adam, undoing the results of o.s. One cannot be separated from the other.

Wow. Perfect!! This is exactly what I was looking for. This is "Biblical" proof! This will help clear it up with my "Sola Bible " defected relatives!

Peace of His to you always,

Jim
