I have this pronunciation guide that PED had posted.
http://www.ewtn.com/expert/answers/eccl ... _latin.htm

Maybe someone can offer me a little instruction. As I read through it I am having difficulty not using an English pronunciation, is there a good reference material to practice with until I get the pronunciation down? Maybe geared specifically towards pronunciation. Also, should I be articulating the words silently?

Heretic!

I was thinking something like the Pater Noster and Ave Maria would help, but even if I found a video of them in Latin I wouldn't know which pronunciation it was or if it was entirely correct. I assume, like most videos on youtube, that it would be likely to be replete with errors. I could probably find or just practice and learn the correct pronunciation for them myself, but it would be much easier if there was already a source someone knows of. Of course they wouldn't include all the different sounds, but it would be a great start.

In St. Luke's Gospel verses 8:4-13, Jesus didn't call the centurian heretic. I can presume the centurian didn't speak ecclesiastical Latin, which sounds much like modern Italian. He would speak classical Latin, instead. In fact, Jesus declared that the centurion had FAITH!

At that time, Jesus spoke Aramaic. Not many people knew Hebrew.

Only people who deny Catholic beliefs and dogmas are heretic.

I know there is a CD of the first 10 chapters of Lingua Latina, but IIRC it's the Classical Pronunciation, not Ecclesiastical.

Good luck!
