I've always liked the song because when I was a little child my Sunday School teacher sang it the last Sunday I was at my church. We were moving out of state the next week. I've always had fond memories, and never believed anyone could sing it as she did. I thought she did a wonderful 'suthern' job of it.

But this...... you've given my memory a whole new outlook on the song and all I can do reading your text is just laugh. I can totally imagine the difference and I really can see..umm...a chorus of four legged friends starting up.

You've ruined the song for me...tsk tsk tsk.... :) Truely funny though.

:) Kel

(ps, no not really ruined it, I will always laugh now whenever I think of those first lines)

Well, I think that the difference in answers sheds some light on human nature... all those liturgical music people thinking they are so important, when what makes a difference to the congregation is the song itself. Imagine thinking that someone else singing the song is more important than if you know the song!
