We are in desperate need of being re-taught in our parishes what the Mass is. . .

What ever happened to Eucharist being the climax of the Mass?

These days, it seems the climax is the Kiss of Peace, or the choir's 'Performance' after Communion,,, it drives me nuts!!! The focus has been driven so far away from Eucharist by some parishes that it makes me , um,, want to drink heavily :argh

Have an altar server ring bells three times - one just after the consecration of bread into Body of Christ, and other just after the consecration of wine into Blood of Christ.

Well, we have managed to 'Hollywood' that part too you see. Instead of a bell, the drummer does some funky 'trancy' sounding thing on his electronic drum set. I feel like im at a movie theater

To add to the problem . . . I am very young (24) and I am a professional musician and so everyone 'ASSUMES' that I am cool with the 'Concert Style' Mass

Um, no :rant

Uh, a rim shot would be better than what we have. The sound we have makes me think of some spooky old person making a potion :stir . Trancy. Weird.
