Some scholars call the Lost Gospels apocryphal gospels. What are the Lost Gospels?

Mostly fake stuff written by early heretics

There are no 'lost gospels', in fact, the so-called, 'lost gospels' were neither lost nor gospels. They were never lost because we have always known about them, and they aren't gospels because they are fake, most of them were written at least 100 years or more after the canonical gospels. We know that they were written after the canonical gospels rather than before them because a simple literary analysis indicates a strong literary dependence on the canonical gospels.

Some of them are relatively harmless, such as the Infancy Gospel or Apocryphon of James which tells various far-fetched stories about Jesus when he was a child. Some of them are the source of popular legends or beliefs that continue to this day, for example, the names of Mary's parents, Anne and Joachim, and stories about how Mary was born and the events of her early childhood.

However, most of them were written in order to promote various heresies.

Were there not two Infancy Gospels: The Infancy Gospel of Thomas and The Infancy Gospel of James?

Sure. These are included in the comments already made, which are correct. There are at least dozens of "gospels" written by gnostics that don't make any difference to Christians. Well, not any more than the Book of Mormon. ::):

Mine aren't lost. They are in a book.
