Today Fátima is celebrating the Feast of Blessed Francisco and Jacinta Marto. These are two of three seers who saw Our Lady of Fátima and were beatified by Pope John Paul II on May 13, 2000.

Attached is a link of the Litany of Blessed Francisco and Jacinta:

Received news in English from the Carmel of Coimbra:

The session of the closing phase of the Diocesan Process of Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God Sister Maria Lúcia of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart took place in the Carmel of Santa Teresa de Coimbra, on February 13, 2017, the day on which marked the 12th anniversary of the death of the Servant of God.

The Church of Carmel had more than three hundred faithful, who wanted to so testify their affection, devotion and admiration for Sister Lúcia.

After the closing session, the Bishop of Coimbra, Bishop Virgílio Antunes celebrated the Eucharist. Also present was the Bishop of Leiria Fátima, Bishop António Marto, the Bishop Emeritus of Leiria Fátima, Bishop Serafim Ferreira e Silva, The Postulator Father Romano Gabalunga, the Provincial of the Carmelites, Father Joaquim Teixeira and 28 Priests from various Dioceses.

Pope Francis has recognized a miracle for the canonization of Blessed Francisco and Jacinta Marto, two of three Fátima seers:

http://press.vatican.va/content/salasta ... 0323d.html

The time and place for the canonization may be decided in the next consistory in April. Sister Angela Coelho thinks that the canonization may be done on May 13 at Fatima.

That's not a lot of time in between. Allow me to play "devil's advocate" for a moment and ask the question - might so little time between recognition, the consistory, and a canonization Mass invite allegations that the timing is a little "too convenient"?

Don't get me wrong - I'm all for canonizing all three of the children of Fátima. But I'm beginning to worry about the canonization process becoming watered down into (for lack of a better word) a "popularity contest," all for the sake of satisfying our generation bent on instant, total gratification. As much as I applauded the rapid canonization for Sts. JPII and Teresa of Calcutta, I'm beginning to wonder if it didn't set a dangerous precedent.

Date and place haven't been set up. It may be at Fátima on May 13 this year or at Rome on some other date with other saints to be canonized.

We will find out on April 20.

The Servant of God Lúcia hasn't yet been beatified, but the Holy See is now checking all documents on her since the diocesan process was completed on February 13 at Coimbra, Portugal.

Today is the 98th anniversary of Saint-to-be Canonized Francisco Marto.

Fr. Fernando Leite wrote a book "Francisco de Fátima". It took many years when the English version "Francisco of Fátima" was finally available.

A very large white rosary called "Suspension ", designed by artist Joana Vasconcelos, was set up yesterday morning. It will be lit on May 12 at 9:30 p.m. It is in front of the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity.

Hello, guys!

I am at Fátima now and met Scott and Kimberly Hahn just after the Mass in English at the chapel of Apparitions. I told them of my experience in 1950, and Kimberly said "Wow!"

My spiritual director was close to the Hahns during the Mass. They were singing in the choir part.

Steve Ray will come a few days later. He is afraid of lots of people and security.

We are now expecting Pope Francis to come this afternoon.

I met the archbishop at Moscow several years ago on Corpus Christi Sunday. We then had procession.
