The only thread on this thing going is titled "Colonoscopies";

Roman Catholics need to have to talk about other issues
these days?

My wife and I are retired; we are looking to move to a community
like Ave Maria in Florida.
We were wondering if anyone knows of anything else in the USA
that is a "going" Roman Catholic community?

[I've already investigated the stuff in Arkansas; I'm interested
in knowing if there are any other states with solid Catholic communities?] :scratch:

I checked out focolare

not exactly what I was looking for;

they don't live in the same geographic area

they're more like a group at a parish that
gets together a couple times a month to
improve spirituality;

i'm looking for a group that actually "lives" together
like ave maria
(ave maria is ok but its very expensive to live there)

They are not real "towns".

Focolare calls their groups "towns" or "cities" if they
have more than a handful of ppl living
in the same geographical area.

Let's say U have 10 regular members in the Boston area,
well then, that group might be called a Focolare Town.

Let's say U have 20 regular members in
the Los Angeles area, well that group
would be called a Focolare City.

I've been researching them heavy. I don't see much community there.
More like belonging to St. Vincent De Paul at your parish.

You get together a few times a month, maybe, that's about it.
