There's a difference between diverticulitis and diverticulosis. I have the latter, but that could turn into the former. IOW, my problem has yet to become infected. I started using psylium which moves everything along faster, so as not to cause any food accumulation in the diverticuli.
I have been wrong all this time. I have diverticulosis and i am now using psylium and Meta Mucil.
I think my favorite food (salads) are not agreeing with me either.
Is there a cure for diverticulosis; or will i have it for life?
It can be managed, but I don't know if there is a cure. Check with your doctor to be sure. However, it was my experience that recommendations can change. My father has had both the elarged diverticuli as well as the inflamed sacs. Doctors first told him to avoid seeds and nuts. He did for a while, and then went back with no further infections, so I suppose it's possible to have only one attack.
