I am struggling. I can still walk, but not too well. I can still go to church on Sundays. During the week I follow the Mass readings (Living Space) and meditate/contemplate. I have a feeling I am not doing enough. Has anyone got any suggestion?

Thomas Merton's Prayer

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.

Nor do I really know myself,
And the fact that I think that I am following your will
does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you
does in fact please you.

And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.
And I know that if I do this
You will lead me by the right road
Though I may know nothing about it.

Therefore I will trust you always.
Though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death.
I will not fear, for you are ever with me,
And you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

Have you considered offering Catholic Teaching on Internet Forums?
False ideas and opinions abound and you might consider helping with truth – such as on The National Catholic Register replying to mistaken ideas in letters written about their articles. You could enrol for their articles at http://www.ncregister.com/. At the bottom of the page you will see “Sign up for our E-Newsletter” and you can take it from there.

Praying the rosary with meditation is very good.

In my 88th year I try to help others who enquire about or distort faith and reality.

Before trying the Liturgy of the Hours I would try a daily rosary, one chaplet (5 decades).
