I'm about 3/4ths done with this book and it's greatly enjoyable.
The reveal of Pip's benefactor... how the whole scene was set up (the stormy night, stuck in the house that Pip says feels like being in a lighthouse during a bad storm), all for making it a much better read than I was giving it.

I reread David Copperfield a year ago. As always, there were some memorable characters - Uriah Heep, Peggoty, Murdstone (what a name!).

The entire chapter 37 makes me loathe that character Dora and her utterly useless mutt, Jip. Was it a Chihuahua? About this point I found myself skimming - skating, really - over sentences, then paragraphs, then entire pages.

I've read a lot of Dickens's novels, but this one won't bother me again.

On gherkin's recommendation, I read Great Expectations last year. An excellent story!
