I would that there were more Aubrey/Maturin to buy.

I'm rationing them and am not yet halfway. The good thing is that so much of the attraction lies in the language and humour, so I expect I shall enjoy rereading them when I get to the end of the series.

I imagine so.

I have never read one of my collection of John Dickson Carr's mystery novels, because when I do, there won't be any more.

Must get around to it soon, I fear.

I've never read John Dickson Carr, but I have one of his mysteries on my kindle.

He is superb, in the locked room mystery sub-genera. And his primary detective is based on Gilbert Keith Chesterton.

Which of his mysteries do you have?

Or STANDARD BROTOSH BORDS< either.

It is a minor Merrivale, but any Carr is a delight , to anyone fond of Golden Age mysteries, like me.

There are other titles esp. with Gideon Fell as the detective, and with Merrivale, too, that are rated more highly. And there are other detectives, in addition.

I love Carr. Mightily prolific, and declining in quality as he aged, but a Master of the craft.
