What's your favourite and your least favourite book of his that you've read?

I know, I know...this is the start of Holy Week and these are not the questions that should be on my mind....But I've been on a Benson spree lately.

I don't have a least favorite. Lord of the World and Come Rack! Come Rope! are tied for favorite

I was unable to read more than a few pages of the only book of his that I tried to read (Lord of the World).

Sometimes the beginning is a little slow, but it's worth it to persevere.

I LOVE RHB.

The only one I have not been able to read is "The Dawn of All". Cannot get into it.

I have a special little place in my heart for "Lourdes" (it is an apologetics work).

His modern-day novels I don't much like.

Any particular reason?

Even None Other Gods and The Necromancers?

Or did you not intend that to mean contemporary?

I started this before Holy Week but then went on to read something else. And then I had my Easter treat of The Fortune of War by Patrick O'Brian, so I haven't returned to it yet. I think I shall go back to it and see how it goes, though I suspect it shall not rank among my favourites.

O'Brian ranks among my favorites, re: fighting sail.
