Any good books that respond to Reza Aslan's Zealot?

It appears most of his arguments are old, tired, and previously debunked but it seems someone must've written a Christian response to his book directly.

I do not know of any such response, though John 18:36 is enough for me.

Is it that you know someone who read it, and believes what Aslan wrote? There are tons of good books that you could recommend about Christ and our faith history. Or have you read it, and you are looking for a basic primer in Christianity to send to the author, since he clearly is no historian?

Two reasons I am curious. First:
I have a friend who read it and buys every argument: hook, line, and sinker. I tried explaining the historical data of Joseph returning to Bethlehem for the census. Apparently Aslan rejects this story completely and says that Jesus was born well after the census. Upon some questioning there doesn't seem to be very good reasoning for this assumption. Which leads to point two:

I want to know the arguments that Aslan is making but I don't want to buy the book. So, if I could just buy a book that refutes his points, that would be great.

Aslan argues that Jesus was a political, rebellious andeschatological Jew whose proclamation of the coming kingdom of God was a call for regime change, for ending Roman hegemony over Israel and ending a corrupt and oppressive aristocratic priesthood.

I got that after googling Reza Aslan Zealot.
