I agree. It is a device to facilitate reading, with some advantages and many fans.

But, a book it is not.

Not too long ago, someone posted a photo on FB of a stack of handheld slate chalkboards. Written on one was "Victorian Tablet - £5" In the comments (I know I shouldn't read them, Fr. Kenobi, but sometimes it pays off), someone wrote "Obviously Android tablets. If they'd been Victorian iPads, they'd have asked £150." :laughhard :laughhard :laughhard
