Anyone read this book?

What did you think?

I was thinking about getting it.

Father, what is your view about the new and old rite of exorcism and sacramentals?

I am not nearly informed enough to have a view.

Is the information given in the book by the author based on the author periodically interviewing the priest who stayed in Rome for training?

Just bought it today. Pretty amazing so far.

One thing I found inspiring is that when Mary shows up, the demons must and actually do show great reverence for her and her name, at least towards the end of an exorcism...and then real healing starts to take place in that person.

Hal, is there at least an overall defeat of evil in the movie by Jesus Christ, or does the movie leave a different impression and unfortunately glorify evil in the end?

I've read half of the book so far. It is very well-written, and like you said Hal, the writer gives the needed balance for this subject.

Another question: Can deacons become exorcists if the bishop appoints him?

Exorcist used to be a minor order (as you well know), but my understanding is that it takes a priest to perform the full rite.

It definitely doesn't glorify evil. I'm not sure it glorifies God either. Yes, there is a full victory won over satan though
