Hi Wage and Welcome. The Church is neither liberal nor conservative, as those terms are political. Regardless of our political leanings, our moral leader resides in Rome.

God bless,
Lolly

Any more guesses before I give away the Big Secret?

Yep, I'm a woman.

I'm still hopeing that I'll be welcomed here... I'm definitely not looking to raise a ruckus or make anybody mad. Thanks to all the people who seemed happy to great me. Peace to all who seemed ill at ease towards me. I have some questions of my own and I may or may not have a few answers up my sleeves. So please dont discount me.

Peace.

I understand. But shouldnt new Catholics (and old ones) be challenged to really think about what they believe? Too many people just believe because they've been told to. I really think you should think long and hard about why you believe what you believe. I'm not saying you should forsake your beliefs, quite the opposite, I'm saying you should reinforce them by truly making them your own.

welcome aboard. Your comments gave me a smile. During my conversion at one point I directed the following angry comment to God:

I don't want to be told what to believe!

I heard a very clear, calm voice say

Everything you believe you have been told

Somehow it was easier after that. To understand the faith can be a exercise of the rational faculties of the soul, spiritually comparable to Olympic competition. Yet, to accept the faith on God's word with the docility of a child is more meritorious than understanding the most sublime doctrines.

“therefore is my people led away captive, because they have not knowledge … therefore hath hell enlarged her mouth without any bounds” (Is 5:13-14).

But he that shall persevere to the end, he shall be saved. (Mt 24:13)
