It's been a while since I was on Steve Ray's board, being busy in other forums.

But I'm back, to look around and contribute where I can.

Thanks Siggy, noting that you are a convert too! :D

I think I have known Steve Ray before he even got envolved with a web site, having communicated with him on and off via E-mail and through others, like Dave Armstrong.

I used to do Catholic apologetics in the pre-internet days, before Al Gore "invented" the internet! :D Then, we used the hobby type bulletin boards (BBS's) and "backbones" such as FidoNet. I used to post on a Catholic forum, sometimes crossing swords with the administrator of the BibleOnly conference (as I recall the name of it) who was James R. White. Know him? :D

Phil Provaznik, who I think posts here as well, knows me, and of course, my "hero" is Joe Gallegos, who through his famous "Papacy.zip," kinda got me started in apologetics in a bit way.

My participation here may be limited since I participate on several non-Catholic forums. But I will see...

For the greetingss of the others here, thank you! It is kinda nice to get back into "friendly territory" once in a while!

God bless,

PAX

Christ has no body now but yours;
No hands, no feet on earth but yours,
Yours are the eyes with which he looks
Compassion on this world.
Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good.
Yours are the hands with which
he blesses all the world.
Christ has no body now on earth but yours.

Prayer for Peace by Pope John Paul II

O God, Creator of the universe, who extends your paternal concern over every
creature and guides the events of history in the goal of salvation, we acknowledge
your fatherly love when you break the resistance of mankind and, in a world torn
by strife and discord, you make us ready for reconciliation. Renew for us the
wonders of your mercy: send forth your Spirit that He may work in the intimacy
of hearts, that enemies may begin to dialogue, that adversaries may shake hands
and peoples may encounter one another in harmony. May all commit themselves to the
sincere search for true peace which will extinguish all arguments, for charity
which overcomes hatred, for pardon which disarms revenge. Amen.

Ah, yes, Diane banned me from CARM first of the year (which I must admit I perpetuated.) Also banned from one of the Baptist boards too. I guess I have been "dismissed" from at least five internet forums in the past ten or so years...

I'll try to work up a few posts to get into the apologetics forum here...

No, I have always been "William Putnam," but at one time, for a very short time, I did use "Guilemous," which is Latin for William.

I have used the "+†+" after "Bill" for a long while too, but not for about the first 3 or 4 years in FidoNet. I "stole" it off another person, who I have not seen posting for a long while. I am not the original user of the "+†+" after my name.

I have been on and off so many boards, I really do not know. I think I have at least been to the site, but a forum? I really don't think so...

Say not: "It was God's doing that I fell away"; for what he hates he does not do. Say not: "It was he who set me astray"; for he has no need of wicked man. Abominable wickedness the LORD hates, he does not let it befall those who fear him. When God, in the beginning, created man, he made him subject to his own free choice. If you choose you can keep the commandments; it is loyalty to do his will. There are set before you fire and water; to whichever you choose, stretch forth your hand. Before man are life and death, whichever he chooses shall be given him. Immense is the wisdom of the LORD; he is mighty in power, and all-seeing. The eyes of God see all he has made; he understands man's every deed. No man does he command to sin, to none does he give strength for lies. (Sirach 15:11-20)

I left CARM a couple years ago right before Lent. Diane banned me at the time I left. She didn't like a couple of truths I told her about the anti-Catholic tone of the forum.

I got banned from the Baptist forum a couple years ago when they did that wholesale banning of Catholics.

Very glad to see you posting here!!
