This is a Beautiful Board and everyone here is terribly intelligent and kind and good lookin' too. i almost feel at home already.... My regular board is down for repairs, but this one is so nice, i might not go back..... i've been reading for a few days and i don't think i have anything to really offer anyone here but it has been wonderful and reviving to read everyone here.
i was born and raised Catholic. Married for over 35 years so that makes me (mumble-mumble) a really young child bride.... ::): i married an Alaskan and he can't live anywhere else, so i'm stuck here until one of us dies... i'm a professed secular Franciscan and mother to 4 and grandmother to many. and if You need anyone to tell You what to do, i'll step up to the plate....
Thank You again for having a wonderful board.
Best! ( Which is Everything Good) motsfo

Hi Alex, Did You feel the 5.2 we had??
it was a run out of the house, i think there may be more coming.....one...
Interesting because i prayed that Our Good Priest who is leaving would get a chance to feel one before he left and Jesus answered in less than 2 hours...or so , for got to time Him... :D
And Thank You, Good Buddy, for introducing me to this site....
i'll be good...i promise....
Best! motsfo.

Glad I missed the quake. I was in the car when it happened. You think another will hit huh? You're always right.

It's really good to see you.

Hello and Welcome!

What does a "professed secular Franciscan" mean?

Welcome to the board!

I have been married 10 years to my dh, and we have 3 little ones so far: Kelly (7 next month), Steven (3 in September), and Brooke (1 in another month). I am a sahm and dh is former military who works full-time and goes to school full time for an engineering degree. He spent 7 months on Kodiak almost 10 years ago and LOVED it (of all the places he travelled with the Navy, he said Alaska was the most beautiful). Someday we hope to take an Alaskan cruise.

Be sure to join our women's board, if you haven't already!

Hi, me3rd!
Does me 3rd mean You are an agreeable sort??
Love You avatar... i haven't figured out how to have one here yet....
(my daughter got a new screen thingy and i couldn't figure out how to turn it on!)
St. Francis started several orders of the Church....
First Order for Priests
Second Order for Nuns, if You will
and the Third Order was for people in the world who had obligations and couldn't leave them to answer Francis's invitation to follow Christ. The name was changed from the"Third Order" to "Secular Franciscans". We are people in the world who wish to draw closer to Christ in the way that St. Francis did. We are obedient to the local Bishop and the Pope. (Hurrah for the Pope!) and we don't wear a 'habit' altho we used to, we wear the Tao Cross... a little wooden kind of a 'T' shape. Best! and Thanks for the Welcome, i hope that answers Your question... motsfo and we are supposed to put sfo after our names and i'm mots so = motsfo.
