I have been a seeker all my life. Like many who came of age in the 60s and 70s I began my search investigating Eastern religions. In 1976, while I was in the Army, my mother passed away and because of this I began to talk to a chaplain who introduced me to Christianity. Starting out as a fundamentalist, dispensational Baptist by the time I was married in the early 80s I had discovered the Reformed faith and had become a fervent Calvinist. Life, however, got in the way of my search and I became unchurched and disillusioned for many years. Now in 2017, I am in my sixties and retired, and find I have the time to begin seeking in earnest once more. At this time of my life, now more mature and patient, I find that my search for goodness, truth and beauty has finally led me to the Catholic Church. I started RCIA last year but due to strong disagreement from friends and family, I dropped out due to stress. As I stated I am more patient these days and now that the furor has died down I am prepared to begin again this fall. I have discovered my Lord in the Eucharist and I am determined to continue until I am able to partake of the blessed sacrament.

Hello and welcome! :wave

It's rough when family is not supportive, but it can certainly be done. There are several on this board who have been there, done that, so you're not alone. Just remember to keep your focus on Christ and not so much on those in your life (sadly, I tend to forget that more often than I care to admit--but I'm working on it!).

And Happy Easter! :D
