The NCV Psalms were published in 2002, The New Testament was published in 2015, and now the complete Old Testament has been published and the entire text is now available in one volume. It has a nihil obstat and imprimatur from bishops in the Philllipines (funny how all new Catholic Bibles seem to need to go to the Philipines to get an imprimatur). The translation is formal equivalent/literal and does NOT use inclusive language, and in case you're wondering, yes, the angel's greeting to Mary is 'Hail, full of grace.'

Prices range from $23-$32 in both hardcover and paperback

Note: The Name has now been officially changed to the 'New Catholic Bible' (NCB) apparently to avoid confusion with the New Century Version.

What does it mean to not use “inclusive” language?

It means, for example, that when the original text says, "brothers," the translation says, "brothers," not, "brothers and sisters."

It means that it uses the same language everyone used until the mid 1980s.

Does it include proper English spelling and not the dialect they use in the USA?

By the way I would argue that given our large population are large land area and our position as the most influential political and cultural force in world history that is American English that is normative and British English usage is a minor dialect.

And your opinion the 400 million Americans are supposed to bend the knee to the arbitrary will to everyone else when the rest of the English speaking world combined is less than half our population? Please.

Proper language is determined by usage, not by arbitrary prescriptons and there are far more people speaking American English than all the other regional variations combined. That means American English is not the merely the most widely spoken form of English, it is in fact, the most widely spoken language on this planet. Because I can assure you that when non-english speakers learn English, they don't learn the King's English, they learn American.

Please, his history of anti-Ameicanism goes back a lot farther than today. American English is the most widely spoken language in world history, if that's not normative, then the word 'normative' has no meaning.

Do you know what the commonly used word is in the world today, the one word which is known and recognized by almost every person on the planet, English speakers and non English speakers alike? It is the word "okay". If you go to France, Germany, Italy, China, Russia or Saudi Arabia and say "okay" they know what you mean?

Can you guess where that particular word originated?

I would kind of expect that in India, being a former British colony and all....
