May I point out that, IIRC, the word in question was added to the banned-word list at the request of a board member (who hasn't visited the board since 2015 :cry: ) whom no one would ever take as a liberal of any sort? The poster in question has a brother who has mental retardation, and another poster could not be dissuaded from using "(censored)" as an insult.

I wouldn't oppose un-banning the word, but be advised that the snarkiness I'm seeing here is misdirected.
