Basically in fantasy you get a roster and players score points based on their performance on the field. Our league uses standard scoring which is 6 pts for TDs and .1 per rushing/receiving yd. etc. Rosters are QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, K and a team defense. You have 1 flex which can be WR/RB/TE. I almost always start an RB in my flex.

With the Browns, Carlos Hyde is a locked 12 points per week given his volume (60yds, 1TD on average). He has been my #2 RB all season. He is almost certain to sit this week and my deeper bench has more ???'s surrounding them. Hyde is now likely to get one solid start NEXT WEEK in Jacksonville before Fournette returns at which point he will not get the volume to justify a spot on my starting team.

In short, I likely lost my #2 RB for the year unless Fournette goes to IR at some point in the next few weeks at which point I get a volume RB running behind a better OL.

Mahomet and the Chiefs are looking tough.

Mahomes is the reason I lost my fantasy game this week. Well, that and starting the "safe" Alex Collins against the best run defense in the NFL over the "risky" Marlon Mack against the Bills. I'm still in the hunt and my lottery ticket bench players are paying off which is good because I need them since I lost Hyde -- (Kerryon Johnson, Marlon Mack).

On the Chiefs and Mahomes. Honestly, with young QB's I expect regression at some point when the bright defensive minds in the NFL finally have enough film to game plan better for him. He may have some of the best weapons around him in the league though. They have the Rams and the Ravens later this season. It will be interesting to see how they fare against those two, especially the Ravens, who might have the best defense in football. Other than that their schedule is setup to allow them a good shot at a 1-2 seed.

I think the Saints are turning it around ... they still have lapses on defense late in games but they are looking much better on that side of the ball compared to the first few weeks. The Saints schedule is brutal with the Vikings-Rams-Eagles 3/4 of their next games.

Big win for the Lions yesterday.

Stafford leads the Lions to a win on the road against a team with a winning record, which has been a problem in the past. Not yesterday. The One Pride fried the Fish. :wootsign

And how about the clutch FG from 50 yards by Prater late to seal it. His first made FG from 50 or farther this season.

I am buying on the Lions. They have a legit RB now and Kenny G is a great addition to that WR corps.

unlike the left upright clunker that cost the cowboys an OT opportunity against the indians

but the most unbelievable miss of the day came from old reliable, arguably one of the top 5 goats in the place kicking world, as he proceeds to push right the extra point kick that would have afforded the ravens an OT encounter with the saints... i would like to have seen that one :fyi:

Drew Brees finally became the 3rd QB in NFL history to defeat all 32 teams (Manning, Favre) ... I think that was his ONLY chance to do that with the Ravens being the last one.

Cowboys just traded a first rounder for Amari Cooper. I think that is a steep price but it should improve them.

time to make your pick for tonite...or your picks for the week if you haven't already

could be interesting having the biggest mistake the texans ever made in a trade come back to visit us...on his 3rd team from when we got rid of him a couple of years ago

i certainly hope jj and jadeveon and whitney (among others) can arrange a nice homecoming for the young man

indeed they did...and what a game from watson and hopkins...it's not often a qb has more td passes than incomplete passes but 5 is indeed greater than 4 ... was a little surprised osweiler had as a good of a game as he did

always happy to pick up a game on everyone... thanks guys! 8-)

the streak is broken folks...it's the first time this season the chiefs have not scored on their first possession

in the games today we are unanimous only for the 'skins, we are 4-1 for da bearz, cincy, the lions and the ravens, and 3-2 for both the browns and the broncos
